July 15, 2008 Jerusalem  The Even Sapir care center for socially isolated children with disabilities reopened four months after it was torched by an arsonist.

Classic post 2004: Floyd Tapson sentenced

March 3, 2004: After a long series of delays the Montana Appeal trial of Floyd  Tapson came to a conclusion in November 2003. Tapson had been accused of abduction, rape, and attempted murder of a woman with a developmental disability who survived after being shot twice in 1998.

Sentence reduced: Not enough cruelty

15 July 2008 – United Kingdom Last February, William Hughes, Marcus Miller, and Stephen Bonallie were sentenced to life sentences in the senseless beating death of Brent Martin, a 23-year-old with an intellectual disability

Karina Neff Murder

23 July 2008 - Mississauga, Ontario  The National Post reports that the body of 31-year-old Karina Neff, described as having a mental disability, was found in an Erin Mills Park.

Arrests in Seattle group home murder

16 July 2008 – Seattle. The Seattle Post Intelligencer reports that six suspects were arrested in the beating death of Roald “Rolly” Hanson, 62, last month.
