Difference is Normal: Lebanese Rap

by

This rap song was created with the intention of creating greater positive awareness of people with disabilities in the Arab world, and the particular version in this Rap Video was was recreated in the wake of the recent war in Labanon. It was shot in Labanon, Qatar, and Syria.

This version includes English subtitles and has a few scenes with sign language, but I don’t know which sign language it is. In any case, it sounds great and has some interesting images.

Check it out on you tube. It’s a neat video, and a unfortunate reminder of how war connects violence and disability. I think it reminds us that we make the effects of war worse when our society punishes its victims.

Thank you for this video! Amazing. We will be presenting at an educator’s conference (Near East South Asia International Schools) in Cairo in March and I think we’ll add this to our presentation.
As a former belly dancer, all kinds of visuals for dance choreography popped into my head… you never know!
