23 July 2010 – Vancouver, BC, Canada The Vancouver, BC Police Department is investigating an incident in which a police officer pushed a woman who has multiple sclerosis and has a clearly visible disability. The incident was captured by security video at a nearby hotel and there is no apparent reason for the assault other than the slightly built woman is unable to get out of the path of three police officers quickly enough.
There is no audio on the video but none of the three police officers are seen making any attempt to assist the woman after she was pushed to the ground. According to the Canadian Press, the officer has apologized to the woman he pushed and remains on active duty while the incident is under investigation.

I thought police officers were suppose to serve and protect. I don’t care who was in their way, they should have said excuse me. Just because they are police officers they are not above the law and Canada should stop treating them like they are. I hope this police officer was penalize and had to do community service for people with disability. It is very sickening to here something like this.
